Our programmes
Each programme carries out one of NUSAMSBE's six strategic areas and is broken down into projects adapted to local contexts.
Maternal and Child Nutrition Programme
Prevent and reduce malnutrition among pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children under five, with a focus on the first 1,000 days of life: breastfeeding, complementary feeding, nutrition monitoring, and prevention and management of malnutrition.
Food Security and Nutrition Programme
Strengthen the food and nutrition security of vulnerable households in a lasting way through sustainable, agroecological and climate-resilient farming practices that promote dietary diversification and the economic empowerment of women.
Community Nutrition and Nutrition Education Programme
Promote healthy and sustainable eating behaviours through mothers' groups, nutrition clubs, IEC/BCC campaigns and cooking demonstrations adapted to local realities.
Nutrition Emergencies Programme
Prevent and manage acute malnutrition in humanitarian crises, climate shocks or acute food insecurity, in coordination with authorities and humanitarian partners.
Research, Training and Advocacy Programme
Strengthen the capacity of local actors, produce evidence and promote policies that support nutrition and food security, through applied research and continuing training.
University Youth Programme — PROCUN
Since June 2025, NUSAMSBE has been implementing PROCUN (University Nutrition Clubs Programme), which aims to mobilise young people and the university community as actors in the fight against malnutrition and food insecurity, in line with Axis 6 of the Strategic Guidance Document.
